Remember Steve Powell?
Steve Powell, the embattled former Director of the St. Charles Convention and Visitor's Bureau is back in town, having left his position in Peoria. He and Venetia McIntyre have purchased a couple of small shops on South Main Street, but don't think that it ends there.
Powell is very close to being the next director of the Missouri Division of Tourism.
Good for him! I think it's well deserved, hope he gets it and I hope he excels in a fashion in which I know him to be capable.

word on the street is it's the director of The Lake of the Ozarks. We will see.
I've been told he has had more than one interview already to be the next director of Missouri's Division of Tourism.
I don't post this to harm his chances, because I think he's an excellent choice.
Wouldn't it be better to annouce he has been named Missouri Tourism Director in stead of preforming PR for him. I think even Steve is trying to keep it quit until he gets the job.
I'm not much for doing PR for people here. Not that any of those making the decision read this blog.
I just happen to think Steve got screwed by an arrogant city council that has no idea what he did for this city, and I hope the best for him.
I think it would make for a great kick in their ass!
Steve is out of the running according to Charleytown.
