Skippy the Journalist?

News from last night's reorganizational meeting of the 2nd Congressional District Committee meeting in St. Charles has our friend, Skippy, introducing himself to the newly elected chairman, Glendale Mayor Rich Magee, as a journalist.

Now, riteon.org might be a blog, just like this one, but I hardly consider myself a journalist, just because I'm publishing online my thoughts. It just means I'm willing to have them read for the education (and hopefully amusement) of others.

Maybe he is using the old Roy Temple line, since Ol' Roy believes himself to be a journalist now, ever since he received a "press exemption" from the FEC for his blog. Essentially, it means that the things he publishes in his blog don't have to be disclosed as in-kind contributions to a political campaign. But Ol' Roy thinks he's a journalist and so does Skippy!

It makes sense -- after all, they're doing the same things to the Republican Party, every time they have a chance!

Meanwhile, the objection that he leveled against the meeting was in the race for vice chairman of the committee. St. Charles and St. Louis County chairmen Jon Bennett and John Winston, respectively, had already made the agreement that whoever was the chairman, the vice chairman would be from the other side of the river. Seems like a nice gentleman's agreement to me, and avoids the inevitible "border wars" that could have come up, so Bennett nominated Penny Henke, longtime committeewoman, and Vice Chairman of the St. Charles County Committee, and Winston seconded her nomination, signaling to members of both committees that the nomination was worthy of support.

Someone from Skippy's bunch then nominated Lincoln Countian, and recipient of one of Skippy's high-value endorsements, Carol Wessel. Both names were written on the board, one above the other, and the voting ensued by secret ballot. In the end, apparently, Henke was the hands-down winner, having had the support of both St. Charles and St. Louis county committeemembers.

Skippy's objection? Reportedly, he felt, as a "journalist," that Wessel should have gotten a more fair shake than she did in that election -- after all, her name was written smaller on the board than Henke's! apparently Magee, an attorney, almost laughed after turning to look at the board to compare -- I think I would have rolled on the floor after such an objection!

So now, since we understand some of the lengths that Skippy & Company will go to in order to force themselves on others.

Well -- almost.

Stay tuned ... the reorganization of the 2nd Senatorial District Committee was this past weekend, and it was videotaped. The DVD is now floating around, and in the hands of the state party, and it reportedly includes the outgoing chairman (Mrs. Skippy) refusing to recognize a privileged motion, and also refusing to follow Missouri law in conducting the meeting.

Why not post the DVD on the blog? I'm sure that others would benefit from seeing first hand how these people operate.

They must be former democrats like their senatorial candidate. That's the only explanation for their actions.

Hilarious. It's almost to the point you almost feel sorry for the poor sap. How low can he go before he reaches out for help?

It's really quite simple. It would use up too much space to put the entire drawn-out meeting on the blog.

Well, really, maybe if I can find some pre-teen kid that knows how to pull part of it out and post it, I'll try to post parts.
