Democrats Purposely Thwarting Free Voter IDs

Okay, say what you want about the new voter identification law in Missouri, but this is ridiculous!

According to the Missouri Republican Party, the democrats are trying to stop the voter ID law from going into effect through lawsuit. Now, while that's an anticipated move by the party of Brand X, this part beats all:

Through their lawsuit, the democrats are trying to get the courts to disallow the continued distribution of free IDs as part of the new law. Here is the link to the court documents, pay particular attention to pages four and five.

What Constitutes Accepted Behavior Under Geneva Convention?

Recently, there was a lot of talk on Capitol Hill regarding those "renegade" republicans that were holding out against President George Bush on a bill that deals with issues involving torture tactics used against captured terrorists.

Some of these renegades, most notably Senator John McCain, have been quite public about their belief that the United States should not treat prisoners inhumanely. I might tend to agree with that, to a point. It's important to point out that the republican hold-outs have struck a deal with the president and the legislation appears to be back on track, much to the dismay of the liberals who keep screaming, "Geneva Convention!"

While I'll never purport to be an expert on the articles agreed upon in the Geneva Convention, I will tell you that making naked men do pyramids in prison, while juvenile, is NOT torture. Dragging dead American soldiers' bodies through the streets of Baghdad is far worse, yet the left doesn't seem to be complaining about these atrocities.

It really begs the question -- is flying passenger jets full of innocent people into buildings, killing thousands of other innocent people, a violation of the articles of the Geneva Convention? After all -- I would like to think that if water boarding is considered to be torture, even though it has led to the disclosure of much intelligence information including a plot to destroy the tallest structure in Los Angeles, that this type of act of terrorism should be considered a violation of these articles.

If using jet planes full of innocent people as a weapon to kill thousands of other innocent people isn't against the Geneva Convention, and water boarding is, perhaps we should scrap our support of the Geneva Convention altogether.

I suppose the real question is -- if we're spending so much time worrying about complying with the articles of the Geneva Convention, do you suppose the Muslim extremists are doing the same thing? Should we fight fire with fire, or decide that we will be the only entity in this war to engage in generally accepted practices of battle -- whatever those are?

Or, perhaps we should resort to pink-belly torture.
